Blocto Powers Solana Games Day 2022

Blocto powers Solana Games Day

The Solana community came together again in Lisbon, Portugal, where from November 4 to November 7, 2022, we saw Solana Breakpoint occur. Solana Games Day was celebrated on the first day at Lisboa Hacker House, where Blocto was the official wallet sponsor!

When we showcased the Blocto Wallet demo onstage, each attendee could clearly see everything they needed to know about the advantages and appeals the wallet brings to the entire Solana ecosystem of GameFi and DeFi projects.

With 30-second email login and an SDK for easier integration, it’s plug-and-play with Blocto Wallet!

Our co-founder and COO, Edwin Yen, also gave a speech to over 600 game developers and fans of the Solana (SOL) blockchain who attended.

Solana Games Day and Its Overall Outcome

Games Day is a community event where the latest mobile and PC games are showcased and launched on top of Solana. Attendees heard from Solana game builders, chatted with the developers, and, best of all, began playing the games.

Across the event, there were 15 live games, with 37 expected to launch by March.

Solana Pay also unlocked frictionless payments, and over $150 million was raised by Decentralized Finance (DeFi) projects, where Solana is still the #2 network for USD Coin (USDC).

Blocto also saw success throughout the event, where our team met and spoke with over 30 top-tier Solana gaming projects.

Some of the most notable projects include:

  • Genopets – A free-to-play (F2P) blockchain-based game built on top of the Solana blockchain, inspired by games such as Tamagotchi, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon; the digital pets come in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which the players can continuously evolve.
  • Aurory – A free-to-play (F2P) game built on top of Solana featuring tactical gameplay and turn-based strategy elements that fall under the Japanese role-playing game genre (JRPG).
  • Mini Royale: Nations – A first-person shooter (FPS) played on top of a web browser and built on top of Solana. It’s a land control-oriented social strategy game focusing on clans, alliances, and social mechanics, with player-vs-player (PvP) oriented gameplay.

The team also connected with a lot of game developers and built many business connections within the GameFi sphere of crypto, which has laid down the foundation for a more connected future within the industry.

Throughout the event, the Q2 e-sports professional team began playing Solana games on-stage and provided the most immersive gameplay experience that any attendee there saw.

The Solana community is still one of the largest within the crypto space, where the event as a whole saw attendance from over 1100 people in total.

The Future of GameFi On Top of Solana

Blocto stands out because it prioritizes the GameFi sphere as a whole, and gaming history has played a huge role in its development.

Blocto Wallet is good for those who are just getting into GameFi and blockchain-based games as a whole. It’s the best wallet solution for gaming projects to fast-track user acquisition, mainly because of the stand-out feature of 30-second onboarding through email.

With Blocto, game developers get access to the following features

  • Easy email login within 30 seconds
  • No extensions and seed phrases
  • Access to instantaneous gameplay
  • Blocto handles all of the gas fees

Throughout the event, there were also over 50 projects in the Solana Games Kit, where the total value locked in USD included $8.2 billion on November 1, 2021, and $964 million on November 1, 2022.

Furthermore, the total value locked in SOL, Solana’s native cryptocurrency, was 41 million SOL tokens on November 1, 2021, while it was at 30 million SOL tokens on November 1, 2022.

We can see that throughout the year, reliance and utility of the SOL cryptocurrency have expanded and that projects as a whole have managed to raise over $150 million.

With Solana’s decentralization of over 3621 nodes, 2160 validators, and 230 unique data centers with staked validators in 33 countries, it’s clear that this blockchain represents an appealing option to both developers that aim to create on top of Solana, as well as gamers who want to experience great games.

Coupled with Blocto Wallet, gamers can enter all these experiences seamlessly and enjoy them instead of worrying about forgetting any data and potentially losing all of their cryptocurrencies.

Solana’s future surrounding blockchain-based games is bright. Blocto is here to ensure that any gamer, or anyone enthusiastic about blockchain games on Solana, can gain quick, secure access to them without needing to pay any gas fees throughout any of their gameplay sessions.

There will be numerous games developed for the Solana blockchain in the near future, so if you don’t want to miss out on some of the latest and greatest gaming experiences that leverage blockchain technology, jump into the Solana gaming ecosystem early with Blocto today.
